Abstract This study investigates the integration of Boolean algebra into the pre-algebra curriculum with the objective of enhancing students’ logical reasoning and mathematical understanding at an early stage. Boolean algebra, traditionally reserved for advanced mathematics and computer science, is examined here for its potential to reinforce fundamental concepts in arithmetic, set theory, and algebraic reasoning. The research explores how the introduction of Boolean operations—AND, OR, and NOT—within pre-algebra can foster critical thinking, improve problem-solving skills, and provide a logical framework for interpreting mathematical relationships. By establishing connections between Boolean principles and conventional arithmetic, this study highlights the pedagogical advantages of incorporating logic-based approaches in early mathematics education. The findings suggest that embedding Boolean functions in pre-algebra not only strengthens students’ grasp of mathematical structures but also lays a foundation for advanced study in mathematics, computer science, and related fields. This research investigates how Boolean algebra can be incorporated into pre-algebra to build an early foundation in logical reasoning within mathematics. Boolean algebra, which focuses on binary variables and logical operators such as AND, OR, and NOT, is usually taught at more advanced levels. In contrast, this study explores the practicality and educational benefits of introducing these concepts earlier, at the pre-algebra stage. It highlights the connections between Boolean algebra and conventional arithmetic, demonstrating how Boolean logic can strengthen students’ grasp of mathematical reasoning, set theory, and fundamental operations. By embedding Boolean functions into the pre-algebra curriculum, the study suggests that learners can enhance their problem-solving abilities while gaining a deeper insight into algebraic structures. The results support the idea that an early introduction to Boolean algebra can nurture critical thinking and prepare students for more complex mathematical learning. This study delves into the integration of Boolean algebra within the framework of pre-algebra, aiming to provide a foundational understanding of logical operations in early mathematical education. Boolean algebra, a branch of algebra dealing with binary variables and logical operations such as AND, OR, and NOT, is traditionally introduced in higher-level mathematics. However, this research explores the feasibility and pedagogical advantages of introducing Boolean concepts to pre-algebra students. The study examines the relationship between Boolean algebra and traditional arithmetic, showcasing how Boolean principles can be used to enhance students' understanding of mathematical logic, set theory, and basic operations. By incorporating Boolean functions into the pre-algebra curriculum, this research suggests that students can develop stronger problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of algebraic structures. The findings advocate for an early introduction to Boolean algebra as a tool for fostering critical thinking and laying the groundwork for more advanced mathematical concepts.
