The Nexus of Environmental Sustainability, Green Accounting, and Foreign Policy: Transforming Sustainable Commerce and Business Management Practices in India

Author(s) Prof. Capt. Dr. Vijay Kumar Madugu
Country India
Abstract This study examines the revolutionary relationship between foreign policy, green accounting, and environmental sustainability in changing business climate of India. Businesses in India are under growing pressure to align their management practices with international ESG standards as the countries diplomatic approach moves toward climate leadership through programs like the International Solar Alliance. In order to improve corporate transparency and investor trust, the study assesses how green accounting functions as an essential technological instrument for internalizing environmental externalities. This study highlights important factors that promote sustainable commerce while addressing significant implementation challenges such high costs for SMEs and a lack of standardized measurements. Findings suggest that integrating environmental costs into financial frameworks is no longer optional but essential for global competitiveness and accessing international green capital. Ultimately, the paper provides a roadmap for Indian firms to navigate "green protectionism" by synchronizing domestic operations with international sustainability mandates.
