Energy-Efficient Catalytic Pathways for Sustainable Organic Synthesis: A Mini Review

Abstract Sustainable organic synthesis is an important approach to reduce energy consumption, waste generation, and environmental pollution in chemical industries. Traditional synthetic methods often involves on harsh conditions, expensive reagents, and high energy usage. This review highlights recent advances in energy-efficient catalytic pathways that make organic synthesis more sustainable. The discussion focuses on the use of green catalysts, including heterogeneous, photocatalytic, nanocatalytic, and biocatalytic systems, which operate under mild conditions and minimize by-products. Special attention is given to renewable energy-driven reactions such as photocatalysis and electrocatalysis that utilize solar or electrical energy to drive chemical transformations efficiently.By combining sustainable energy sources with advanced catalytic systems, organic synthesis can become more efficient, cleaner, and compatible with green chemistry principles. These strategies show great potential for developing environmentally benign and economically feasible synthetic routes.
