| Abstract | In today’s highly competitive environment, organizations increasingly recognize that their true advantage lies not only in technical expertise but also in the emotional commitment of their workforce. Affective commitment, which reflects an employee’s sense of attachment and identification with their organization, has been widely acknowledged as a key driver of productivity, efficiency, and loyalty. Building on this understanding, the present study examined the influence of affective commitment on employee performance within an Information Technology (IT) company, with particular attention to both task and contextual performance. Data were collected from 60 employees (33 men and 27 women) using established measures of affective commitment and performance. Analyses using Pearson’s correlation and independent samples t-tests indicated a significant positive association between affective commitment and both task-related and contextual aspects of performance. While women reported slightly higher levels of affective commitment compared to men, no significant gender differences emerged in performance outcomes. Overall, the findings highlight the importance of fostering emotional commitment among employees as a means of enhancing effectiveness and advancing organizational goals. |
