| Abstract | Financial inclusion is essential for economic participation and poverty reduction. Yet in emerging markets such as India, millions still lack access to affordable and trustworthy financial services. AI offers new possibilities for extending credit, improving risk assessment, and creating personalized banking experiences that can reach underserved populations. This study qualitatively compares India and the United States to understand how AI-enabled solutions influence financial inclusion. Using a comparative and human-centered lens, it analyzes major initiatives, policies, and ethical frameworks shaping inclusive AI in finance. Findings highlight that while India’s rapid fintech expansion and digital-first policies have accelerated inclusion, persistent gaps in literacy and trust stays. In contrast, the United States demonstrates regulatory maturity and advanced AI adoption but faces continued exclusion of minority and low-income communities. The paper concludes that inclusive AI requires a balance of innovation, transparency, and ethical governance to ensure technology truly empowers those historically excluded from financial systems. |
