Cryptocurrency and Financial System Disruptions: A Transformative Shift in the Global Economy
Author(s) | Dr. Sonal Ashok Ubale |

Country | India |
Abstract | The rise of cryptocurrency has led to significant disruptions in the traditional financial system. Digital currencies, powered by blockchain technology, have introduced a decentralized financial model that challenges conventional banking, regulatory policies, and global economic stability. This paper explores the impact of cryptocurrencies on financial institutions, investment strategies, economic volatility, and monetary policies. The study also highlights potential risks, including security threats, regulatory challenges, and financial crimes. Additionally, it examines the role of decentralized finance (DeFi) in providing alternative financial solutions, the emergence of stablecoins as a bridge between traditional and digital assets, and the potential implications of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). By analyzing global regulatory responses and case studies of cryptocurrency adoption, the research provides an in-depth understanding of how cryptocurrencies reshape financial systems and the steps needed to integrate them sustainably into global economies. The findings underscore the need for a balanced regulatory approach to mitigate risks while fostering innovation and financial inclusion. |
