Abstract This study investigates the impact of social media on female body image and self esteem of young women, aiming to unravel the intricate relationship between social media and overall mental and emotional states. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research explores how various social media outlets and one’s own perception of their body in relation to what they are seeing in social media messages and images of individuals in the critical developmental stage of young women.
