Abstract The research is conducted to identify the key competencies required for the Information Technology professionals who all are in Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies India Pvt Ltd. The competencies used for the study were based on the following key areas such as Personal competencies, Technical Competency, Knowledge level competencies, Job-related competencies, Interpersonal Competencies and Management competencies which is involved with the performance of the employees and it also make them to become successful in their career. In order to attain the competitive position in the business field, every employee in the organization should involve in increasing the productivity and efficiency at the workplace.
Similarly, the organization also has a challenging part in retaining the employees and motivating them to update themselves relevant to their specialization or key performance areas. Therefore, the competency mapping will be helpful for the researcher in identifying the expected skills of every individual with the actual skill set of the job.
Based on the observed gaps, specific training and necessary steps to be taken to overcome the skill deficiency of the employees.
