Biosimilars - An Overview

Abstract	Biosimilars are the biologic medical products highly similar to an already approved reference biologic with no clinically meaningful difference in terms of safety,purity,and potency .they are developed after the original biologics patent expires and are subjected to rigorous regulatory evaluation to ensure their efficacy and safety .Biosimilars offer a cost - effective alternative to biologics ,fostering in the pharmaceutical market and increasing patient access to treatments fo br various chronic and life threatening diseases and auto immune disorders. Biosimilars are made from the same type of sources (eg:living organisms like bacteria(e.coli, bacilius subtilis) mammalian cells lines (HEK293,NSO) plant based system (tobacco ,corn ). Biosimilars is a biologic medication.
