Abstract | The learning and teaching of data structures form a critical part of computer science education, laying the foundation for efficient problem-solving and programming techniques. However, students, particularly beginners and younger learners, often struggle with the abstract concepts inherent in data structures, such as linked lists, trees, and graphs. Visualization tools have emerged as a popular method to aid in the understanding of these complex concepts, allowing learners to see the behaviour of data structures during operations like insertion, deletion, and traversal. Nevertheless, these tools often lack interactivity, leaving learners with limited means to explore the nuances of data structures dynamically. Voice assistants, powered by natural language processing (NLP) and speech recognition technologies, have increasingly become a part of educational ecosystems, providing a hands-free, intuitive means of interaction. Combining voice interaction with visual aids allows for an immersive, interactive learning environment, where students can query and manipulate data structures through voice commands while receiving real-time visual feedback. |
