Abstract With the increasing adoption of hybrid and remote work models by organizations, the embedding of AI and VR systems in these spaces comes up with new opportunities for improving the experiences of remote work. This study examines the effects of AI-powered VR platforms on productivity in remote work and employee well-being using an all-round mixed-method analysis. We used a 6-month longitudinal investigation involving 312 knowledge workers in 15 organizations that rolled out AI-VR workspace solutions. Our findings indicate considerable efficiency gains in collaborative work, less digital fatigue, and higher presence compared to more traditional remote work tools. Yet, we also point out significant issues in the areas of privacy, cognitive load, and access to technology. This study adds to the nascent understanding of how AI-VR integration shapes the future of work and offers practical recommendations for organizations interested in these technologies.
