| Abstract | Fisherfolk are an important population in Kerala, although they are neglected and disenfranchised despite the state's overall socioeconomic success. This study indented to the socio-economic status of fishermen community and try emphasises the importance of understanding that the fishing community is a distinct group of people geographically located in coastal areas with their own way of life and culture, as well as the special relationship they share with the sea and the environment. |
