Abstract | There is one saying in the aviation sector that: if you have seen one airport, you have seen one Airport. this statement implies to the uniqueness of each airport. Each Airports have significant effect in term of the activity that takes place at the Airport and the infrastructure that is required to support that activity.1 The amount of infrastructure varies from one airport to other. The infrastructure at an airport is normally divided into two categories: Airside infrastructure and landslide infrastructure. The air slide infrastructure accommodates the movement of aircraft around the airport and include aircraft parking aprons, taxiways, airfield lights and signs etc. whereas the landslide infrastructure include movement of ground based vehicle and passengers and includes access road, parking lots, garages and terminal buildings. With phenomenal growth in air traffic, the importance of air transport in the whole economy has increased considerably.2 Its role in transportation of people, cargo and creation of jobs needs no emphasis. Airports have become the key nods in the production and commercial systems and engines of local economic development. With more and more business taking place around these airports, a new urban form is fast emerging. Civil Aviation contributes to prosperity and creates opportunities for employment, business, commerce, trade and tourism industry. |
