The Impact of Rural Tourism on Silver Tourism

Abstract This paper explores the relationship between rural tourism and silver tourism (tourism focused on senior citizens), analysing how rural destinations cater to the needs of older travellers. It discusses the benefits of rural tourism for senior citizens, including health, leisure, and cultural engagement, while also considering the economic and infrastructural impact on rural communities. Through case studies this research highlights the challenges and opportunities in developing rural areas as senior-friendly destinations.
