Abstract | The study was conducted to assess the effect of the implementation of the Katarungang Pambarangay Law in Barangay Manguiring, Calabanga, Calabanga, Camarines Sur for CY 2015-2017. The following concerns were investigated: 1) Presentation of the demographic profile of the respondents; 2) determination of the nature, number, and level of implementation of cases pertinent to Katarungang Pambarangay Law; 3) determination of the problems encountered in its implementation; 4) determine the relationship between job satisfaction and extent of implementation of the KP law; and 5) to propose polices for the enhancement of the implementation of the Katarungang Pambarangay Law. Descriptive, evaluative and developmental methods of research using documentary analysis, observation on-site visit, interviews and informal/focused group discussions were employed to determine the objectives of the study. The study concluded that the respondent Barangay has an existing structure headed by a Punong Barangay. It was concluded likewise that they employed both men and women, even beyond 60 years of age, whom majority of them finished high school level, with the employment of 4 years in service. It was also concluded that they settled majority of the filed cases, and that few were pending and endorsed to concerned Municipal Trial Court for disposition of those cases. Level of implementation and job satisfaction were both highly and strongly satisfied, with weak and moderate relationships between these two SOPs. It was finally concluded that respondents were eager to propose policies for the rights, welfare and protection of women, as well as the enhancement of the existing policies, ordinances and resolutions of the Barangay in adherence to the implementation of the KP Law. |
