Abstract | This study explores the impact of social media on the identity formation and socialization of youth. With the increasing prominence of platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok, young people are exposed to diverse social environments that shape their personal and social development. Social media plays a critical role in influencing youth behavior, attitudes, self-perception, and interactions with others. This research examines the relationship between social media use and the development of social identity, the way youth perceive themselves and others, and how online interactions affect their offline relationships and communication skills. Through a review of relevant literature and data collection, this paper aims to contribute to the understanding of how digital platforms shape youth socialization processes. |
