Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Under NEP 2020: A Pathway to Educational Transformation

Abstract The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes Foundational Literacy and Numeracy(FLN) as a critical goal for early childhood education in India. This research paper examinesthe significance of FLN, the challenges in its implementation, and the policy measuresintroduced under NEP 2020. It also highlights the role of stakeholders, including educators,parents, and policymakers, in ensuring effective execution. The study utilizes qualitative andquantitative methodologies to analyze the current landscape of FLN and its impact oneducational transformation. The findings indicate significant progress in early educationreforms while identifying areas needing further intervention. Recommendations are providedto strengthen FLN initiatives for sustainable educational development.
