Exploring The Challenges and Coping Strategies of Parents of Children with Autism

Abstract	This qualitative study explores the unique challenges and coping strategies of parents of children with ASD. A sample of 7 parents (3 fathers, 4 mothers) was selected through purposive sampling and semi structured interviews were conducted with them. The collected data was transcribed and thematically analyzed using NVivo 14. The analysis revealed six major themes relating to the research questions. The findings highlight the various stressors faced by parents of children with ASD. They provide insights into the complex interplay of social, emotional, and psychological factors that influence the lives of these parents. Parents used a variety of coping strategies to cope with these challenges. The study also explores the perceived effectiveness and factors influencing the selection of coping strategies. It contributes to the field of psychology by offering useful insights into parental adaptation and resilience with respect to ASD
