Abstract Varicose veins are dilated, swollen veins, typically affecting the legs and appearing green, dark blue, or purple. Occupational factors, such as prolonged standing and muscle contraction, are key contributors to chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). Nurses, due to the physical demands of their profession, are particularly at risk for developing varicose veins.
