Author(s) | Dr. Suvarna Sandeep Jadhav |
---|---|
Country | India |
Abstract | In India, the word Satyagraha was coined by Mahatma Gandhi. He first used this word when he was in South Africa. When he returned to India, he used the same word to fight against the British Government and support the peasants' movement at Kheda. However, when Dr. B. R. Ambedkar fought for the human rights of Untouchables in the Mahad Chavdar Tank Satyagraha, he too called it Mahad Chavdar Tank Satyagraha. The present article is an attempt to study the two stalwarts of India, i.e. Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and their views on the concept of Satyagraha. The two have different perceptions and thinking towards the concept of Satyagraha. |
