Abstract | This article focuses on the determining role of continuing education in the development of skills applied by accredited inspection bodies (IBs). Through theoretical analysis and studies, we demonstrate how a relevant investment in training helps maintain compliance with standards (ISO/IEC 17020), improve inspection performance and strengthen the credibility of IBs. The results reveal a high correlation rate between continuing education, the reduction of non-conformities and the optimization of operational performance. We identify the key mechanisms either in more explicit terms (skills monitoring, post-training evaluations, management involvement) and propose practices to maximize the impact of training schemes. The study also confirms that continuing education is not only a compliance tool, but an essential lever to sustain the excellence and competitiveness of IBs in a constantly evolving regulatory environment. |
