A Study on Socio-economic and Academic Achievement of Scheduled Caste Students Studying in Class IX with Special Reference to Telahi Development Block of Lakhimpur District

Abstract The Scheduled Castes(SCs) are considered as one of the most disadvantaged groups in India. They often face numerous socio-economic challenges that can impede their educational progress and hinder their academic achievements. So the present study is conducted on the socio economic and academic achievements of scheduled caste students studying in class9 with a specific focus on telehi devlpmnt blck of lkhmpr dist.Infact academic achievement is an important index of learnig and it plays a very significant role in the fulfillment of the aims of life of an individual. The major objctvs of this paper are to find out the relationship between parents’ occupational and the academic achievement ,the relationship between parents educational level and the academic achievement of the scheduled caste students of class IX. For this study, descriptive survey method particularly normative survey method was adopted and to collect data three set of questionnaires was used .
