Abstract | The researcher aimed to evaluate the practices and challenges in safeguarding children with special needs at Bacsay Elementary School, with the aim of assessing the implementation of policies designed to protect and support these children in an educational setting. Using a quantitative research design, the study surveyed school administrators and teachers to evaluate the current state of safeguarding practices, identify obstacles in their implementation, and propose recommendations for improvement. The findings revealed that while there is a general awareness of safeguarding policies, their application is inconsistent across classrooms. Challenges include insufficient resources, a lack of trained staff, and limited collaboration among educators, all of which hinder effective implementation. Additionally, the study highlighted the need for differentiated instruction to better address the diverse needs of children with special needs. The research concludes that enhancing safeguarding practices requires more consistent policy enforcement, increased resource allocation, and professional development in inclusive education. Based on the findings, the study recommends strengthening training programs, improving resource availability, and fostering collaboration through professional learning communities to ensure the holistic development and protection of children with special needs in schools. |
