Abstract | The article focuses on the impact of social media on language development and the changing face of language which was developed to develop human species from cave men to civilized being; the language which grew the family on one to “Vasudev Kutumbakam”. In the world of fake emojis real emotions have lost their essence. Language is the reason for human existence as without language we wouldn't have been able to grow as a world and prosper. Language is the foundation of all our relationships, be it personal or professional. With the developing world we developed social media as a source to connect worldwide and to an extent it really worked wonders but as everything has its disadvantages, its impact upon aspects of life began to show its colors. Social media today is an addiction for all and is leading towards the fall of human relationships. People have started ignoring communication and rather prefer to send text or whatsapp messages with hardly thought upon emoji. Social media significantly influences how people communicate and connect with each other. The article discusses the profound impact of social media upon language and changes its going through recently. |
