Abstract This study explores the link between health risk behaviors and personality traits in adolescents. It examines how traits like extraversion, neuroticism, conscientiousness, and openness relate to risky behaviors, along with gender differences in these behaviors and their personality profiles. Utilizing quantitative measures, the research included 100 adolescents aged 10 to 19 from diverse backgrounds, who completed standardized assessments like the Big Five Inventory-2 (BFI-2) and a risk-taking scale. Findings indicate that male adolescents displayed higher risk-taking than females, with no significant gender differences in personality traits. Moreover, high neuroticism was associated with a greater likelihood of risk behaviors for both genders, though intensity varied. This study highlights the need to consider personality traits and gender in addressing adolescent risk-taking behaviors.
