Stream-wise and Category-wise Enrolment Trends of Higher Secondary Students in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh

Abstract | Education is not only a process of imparting and gaining the knowledge, but it is also an essential means for individuals to unlock their full potential and contribute for the welfare of the society. The aim of this research to study the enrolment trends of boys and girls at government higher secondary level in Hamirpur disctrict of Hiamchal Pradesh. Apart from this, other aim is to study and compare the boys and girls enrolment with respect to their stream and social category at higher secondary level in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. the result of the study showed that, the percentage enrolment of the girls is still lower than the boys at higher secondary level. Most of boys students enrolled in the commerce stream as compared to arts and science stream, while in case of the girls, highest enrolment is in science stream. Apart from this, it is revealed from the study that, there is little increasing trend in enrolment among general boys & girls, a little declining trend among the SC & ST boys students at higher secondary level. Apart from this, there is declining trend of enrolment among the OBC boys & girls students and a little increasing trend among the girls SC and ST students. |
