Author(s) | Ms. Pooja Mahla |

Country | India |
Abstract | This paper analyzes the special provisions in Indian Labour Law protecting women's rights at work. It examines the constitutional basis and key legislation like the Equal Remuneration Act, Maternity Benefit Act, and POSH Act, including their aims and significant changes. The paper also discusses their integration into recent Labour Codes, implementation challenges (especially in the unorganized sector), and their effectiveness in promoting gender equality compared to international standards. It concludes by highlighting ongoing gaps and suggesting ways to enhance the legal framework for substantive gender equality in the Indian workplace. |
