Abstract | Economic crises are notable times of financial instability characterized by sharp drops in GDP, decreased consumer spending, and worsening business conditions. India has gone through several significant economic downturns since 2000, such as the Global Financial Crisis (2008–09), the COVID-19 pandemic (2020), and more recently, global inflation shocks and geopolitical tensions. These incidents put the Indian corporate sector's adaptability and resilience to the test. Businesses had to deal with tight financing conditions, falling demand, and supply chain disruptions during these crises. In response, many adopted digital transformation, cost-cutting measures, and diversified markets. These modifications emphasize how crucial financial planning, crisis management, and innovation are to preserving business continuity. An understanding of how Indian businesses adjust their strategies in times of stress can be gained by researching these economic shocks. In order to improve the nation's ability to handle upcoming financial difficulties, it also highlights the necessity of policy support, structural reforms, and economic diversification |
