The Effect of Organizational Culture and Knowledge Sharing on Innovative Behavior: A Test of Affective Commitment as a Mediator

Abstract In this increasingly competitive era of globalization, innovation is the key to maintaining a competitive advantage. Thus, companies need to understand the factors that influence innovative behaviour. This study aims to analyse the effect of organizational culture and knowledge sharing on employee innovative behaviour with affective commitment as a mediating variable. The object of research was conducted at one of the mining companies in Indonesia. A total of 100 employees were recruited as respondents. Purposive sampling method was used to take samples in this study. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire designed with cross sectional survey design. Hypothesis verification was conducted with the help of SmartPLS program. The study results show that organizational culture and knowledge sharing have a positive and significant effect on innovative behaviour. In addition, affective commitment was shown to mediate the effect of organizational culture and knowledge sharing on innovative behaviour.
