Abstract | In children and youth, diabetes is the leading cause of kidney damage and is oftentimes life-threatening, such as causes heart enlargement. Microalbuminuria (MA) is an earlier indication of degenerative kidney disease (DKD) for those suffering from diabetes, particularly with the growing prevalence of type two diabetes in obese children. MA must be identified in the course of adolescence if one is to prevent end-stage renal failure (ESRD). DKD risk factors include: blood pressure, age, level of control of blood sugar, family history, and others. Though the progression of DKD may be slowed down by the use of ACE inhibitors, renoprotective drugs, and some other drugs, early diagnosis is difficult due to the overlap of symptoms with many other diseases. Spotlighting the need for advance diagnosis and treatment, including genetic research, stem cells, and modern innovative therapies, could reduce the chances of catastrophic results caused by early treatment of DKD. |
