This is a useful study tool for measuring anxiety associated with medical operations. According to the finding’s, there is significant relationship between age, sex, monthly income, type of surgery and the number of surgeries in to the anxiety levels of preoperative patients. The study reveals that the factors affecting the preoperative patient’s anxiety levels are surgical complications, duration and degree of disability, concerns about anesthesia, loss of control, fear of waking up during surgery and discomfort and pain. The study proposed an enhancement of existing operating room manual program to effectively manage the anxiety level of operative patients. |
