Abstract The Zimbabwe National Army was in need of partnership in healthcare financing given the liquidity and expertise challenges they were experiencing. They entered into public private partnership (ppp)with PSMAS, a medical Aid society where its members were subscribing members. The issue of governance was at the center of the research for sustainability of the partnership. The study reviews the global trends in embracing ppps in healthcare financing and governance strategies other nations are employing to strengthen stakeholder relationships for sustainable healthcare delivery. A mixed method approach was adopted. 134 respondents participated and the main finding was that governance of the partnership was effective and it recommended for robust monitoring and evaluation systems that strengthen the ppp governance to a hybrid model.
