Abstract Oral infections and dental diseases are commonly associated with microbial biofilms. Chebulinic acid, a tannin from Terminalia chebula, exhibits strong antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. This study presents the formulation and evaluation of a chebulinic acid-based mouth gargle aimed at improving oral health. The formulation was optimized for solubility, stability, pH, and viscosity to ensure effectiveness and patient compliance. Antimicrobial studies showed significant inhibition of Streptococcus mutans, and stability tests confirmed the formulation’s shelf-life. These findings support chebulinic acid as a natural, effective alternative to conventional mouthwashes, with further clinical studies recommended
