National Education Policy 2020: Challenges and Solutions in School Education in India

Abstract | Abstract The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) was recently introduced in India to reform the education system and bring about an inclusive, multidisciplinary, and holistic approach to learning A comprehensive policy document; the NEP 2020 addresses all facets of education, covering early childhood education and care schooling, and higher education. Despite its promising goals, the implementation of the NEP 2020 in school education is facing various challenges, such as a shortage of trained teachers, inadequate infrastructure, lack of funds, and resistance to change. This research paper aims to study the challenges and potential solutions in implementing the NEP 2020 in school education in India. Through a literature review, the paper highlights the importance of effective stakeholder engagement, adequate funding, and capacity building for teachers, among others. The study concludes that the successful implementation of the NEP 2020 in school education in India will require sustained effort and collaboration from all stakeholders, including the government, educators, and the community. |
