Abstract | Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a complex hormonal and metabolic condition that affects a significant proportion of women in their reproductive years. This review outlines the role of dietary management as a primary therapeutic approach in PCOS, emphasizing its influence on insulin resistance, hormonal imbalance, menstrual irregularities, and fertility outcomes. Various dietary models are discussed, including low-glycemic index diets, the Mediterranean and DASH diets, ketogenic and high-protein regimens, plant-based nutrition, and intermittent fasting. The review also highlights the therapeutic potential of specific supplements such as myo-inositol and vitamin D. By integrating findings from recent clinical studies and meta-analyses, the article provides practical guidance for applying dietary strategies in clinical settings. These interventions offer safe, effective, and sustainable options for improving both metabolic and reproductive health in women with PCOS. |
