Abstract Amisulpride, an atypical antipsychotic, a selective dopamine D2/ D3 receptor antagonist, is commonly used for treating psychosis and mood disorders. However, one of its known adverse effects is hyperprolactinemia due to dopamine blockade in the tuberoinfundibular pathway. We report the case of a 41-year-old woman who developed secondary amenorrhea following initiation of amisulpride. Her investigations showed a marked increase in prolactin level. Her symptoms improved after discontinuing amisulpride. This case highlights the importance of recognizing medication-induced endocrine dysfunction.
