Author(s) Tvishaa Gupta
Country India
Abstract This research paper examines the complex issue of performance phobias among athletes and presents a collaborative framework for addressing these mental health challenges. Through a multidisciplinary lens, the study highlights how sports psychologists, coaches, medical professionals, and peer networks can work together to manage the psychological and physiological symptoms of performance anxiety. The paper explores the causes, consequences, and manifestations of performance phobias, as well as the evolving role of technology in mental health interventions. Key challenges such as stigma, limited resources, and resistance to interdisciplinary care are also discussed. By integrating early detection strategies, mental health education, and long-term support systems into sports organizations, the study advocates for a holistic and athlete-centered approach to mental well-being. The findings underscore the need to elevate mental health to the same level of importance as physical fitness in achieving sustainable athletic success.
