Abstract | In recent years, mental health challenges such as stress and anxiety have become increasingly prevalent among undergraduate engineering students. Rigorous academic demands, competitive environments, and future uncertainties contribute to high levels of psychological distress. This paper explores how artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies are being harnessed to monitor, manage and reduce stress and anxiety among engineering students. Drawing on recent research, case studies and current applications, the study evaluates the effectiveness, accessibility and ethical implications of digital mental health tools. It further delves into the evolution of such technologies, their theoretical underpinnings, user acceptance patterns, and future possibilities for improving student mental health outcomes through tech-enabled interventions. Additionally, it discusses the pedagogical value of digital mental health literacy and institutional readiness to adopt emerging technologies. |
