| Abstract | Abstract Knowledge Management (KM) provides the systematic processes of creating, sharing, and applying knowledge to bridge information and capacity gaps within institutions and societies. Despite notable advancements in Uganda’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, the country lacks dedicated museums, archives, and exhibition spaces to preserve its technological heritage and foster innovation and public learning. This study examines the role of KM practices in supporting the development of ICT-focused museums, archives, and exhibits in Uganda. Using a qualitative research methodology, the study utilized key informant interviews and document analysis to assess the existing landscape, identify knowledge gaps, and draw insights from global best practices. The findings highlight the urgent need to establish institutional frameworks that integrate KM principles into the design, planning, and management of ICT heritage institutions. Such frameworks are essential for the effective preservation of digital and technological knowledge, the enhancement of educational opportunities, and the stimulation of innovation within the national ICT ecosystem. The study concludes that context-specific KM strategies are instrumental in promoting sustainable knowledge retention and advancing a digitally literate and innovation-oriented society in Uganda. |
