| Abstract | The integration of big data in the public sector represents a transformative shift in how governments function, formulate policy, and deliver services. While the promises of operational efficiency, predictive governance, and citizen-centric services are immense, actualizing these benefits faces several structural, regulatory, and technical barriers. This paper provides a comprehensive exploration of both the benefits and challenges associated with public sector big data integration. Using a mixed-methods approach, including literature synthesis, expert interviews, and international surveys, this study identifies critical success factors and systemic roadblocks. The findings culminate in a strategic framework aimed at sustainable, secure, and ethical integration of big data technologies across diverse governmental contexts. |
