| Abstract | Key Management Service (KMS) is a cornerstone of cloud-native security, enabling encryption, access control, and data integrity enforcement at scale. While initial guidance simplifies key provisioning by use case, large-scale deployments demand a more nuanced approach. This paper explores a scalable, compliant, and resilient framework for managing KMS keys in enterprise environments. It covers lifecycle automation, policy enforcement, regional architecture, performance optimization, and threat mitigation. Drawing from industry reports and academic literature, the study bridges theory and practice in cloud key management. |
