Abstract Cloud migration has emerged as a transformative strategy in modern IT project management, enabling organizations to enhance flexibility, scalability, and operational efficiency. Migrating to leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP significantly alters the traditional approaches to budgeting, timelines, team structures, and governance. This paper examines how cloud adoption reshapes these critical dimensions of IT project management. The shift from capital-intensive infrastructure to a pay-as-you-go model optimizes costs but requires advanced financial planning and monitoring. Project timelines benefit from accelerated infrastructure provisioning and deployment, yet complexities in migration methods like replatforming or refactoring can affect schedules. Cloud migration also redefines team dynamics, driving the adoption of DevOps, agile methodologies, and necessitating new skill sets focused on cloud technologies. Governance evolves through automated policy enforcement, improved compliance frameworks, and centralized monitoring across cloud environments. By analyzing these impacts, this study provides a strategic framework for organizations seeking to leverage cloud migration for improved project outcomes. The insights help in aligning technological capabilities with project goals, ensuring better cost management, faster delivery, and robust compliance in a competitive digital landscape.
