Abstract | The emergence of multinational corporate (MNC) salons has revolutionized India's salon market by rendering traditional barbers unemployed. The study explores the change in the livelihood of barbers from being individual entrepreneurs to employees of MNCs, what prompted them towards this transition, and its socio-economic effects. With a mixed-method design, data was obtained from 50 salons within Ballari district through questionnaires and interviews. |
