Abstract | Abstract Peasant movements in India have played a crucial role in shaping agrarian policies, socio-economic reforms, and political mobilization. From colonial exploitation to post-independence struggles, Indian peasants have organized themselves to resist oppression, demand land rights, and fight against unjust economic policies. This paper examines the major peasant movements in India, their causes, key leaders, and their impact on Indian society and politics. It also explores the role of peasant movements in influencing state policies and their relevance in contemporary agrarian crises.
