Societal media: A plain sailing platform in the 21st century facilitating English language acquisition for ESL Learners

Over the years, the modes of communication and the methods used have changed drastically. Most importantly, technology and its vast popularity of social media marks a milestone in the advancements. Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Whats App, Telegram, etc., have become an essential part in today’s day-to-day life. The screen life of people has been increased in this new era of technology. To effectively engage and upsurge with the latest technology, social media creates a need to have a basic understanding of the language of English. Though social media has evolved and introduced itself to many regional languages, still to operate it properly, one certainly has to know the basics of English language. Thus, the social media conversation intensifies encourages realistic interaction among users and English language acquisition.
Thus, Social media can be utilized as a tool to develop the second language acquisition. The process of second language acquisition in the context of social media is much quicker and easier due to the realistic interactive platform it offers. The paper analyses the effects as well as introspectively scrutinize the quality of language aptitude among the users and its acquisition in the effect of social media.
