Abstract | This study investigates the influence of support mechanisms for professional development on organisational commitment among employees in IT and ITES companies. Using primary data from 200 respondents, the research employed mean analysis, independent samples t-test, correlation, and multiple regression analysis to assess the relationship between five key support mechanisms—Organisational Support, Work Environmental Support, Job Support, Co-Workers Support, and Self-Support—and employees’ organisational commitment. The results indicate that all support mechanisms were rated above average, with Work Environmental Support being the most prevalent. Significant gender differences were observed, with male employees perceiving higher support and commitment. A strong positive correlation was found between support mechanisms and organisational commitment, and multiple regression analysis confirmed that four out of the five mechanisms significantly predicted commitment, with Self-Support emerging as the strongest contributor. The findings suggest that structured and self-driven professional development initiatives play a crucial role in fostering stronger organisational ties among IT and ITES employees. |
