Migratory Birds Safeguarding at Telukunchi Bird sanctuary in Srikakulam wetlands, Andhrapradesh, India

Abstract Abstract:
Telukunchi bird sanctuary located at Telukunchi village near 4km from Ichapuram dist of srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the best serve and significant rainy grounds for migratory birds breeding from the hosts of central Asia like Srilanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia. We study and evolutes the migratory bird protection, conservation of the wetland ecosystem. This bird sanctuary is a natural host to the open billed migratory birds. We are study first examination: Collect the data time period between middle of June 2023 to end of December 2025 with based on the direct observation survey method by the help of advanced binoculars and cameras (A Canon power shot 90X camera, 10× 21 DPCI Olympus Binocular) twice a month every year duration period. The number of population\no.of nests) data count based on years 2021-22- 3640\1820, 2022=23-3480\1740, 2023-24-3390\1695' 2024-25-3680\1840. In my observation I find the population density, Child death rate and difference between immigrates and emigrates. Second examination sanctuary faces critical challenges like climate impact, invasion birds and water scarcity. Its overall examine the current conservation strategies like declining of migratory birds population, habitat loss and sustainable management. community influence and avian habitat long term furtiveness.
