Impact Of Nutritional Deficiencies on Hypothyroidism Condition - A Meta Analysis

Abstract | This study is about Hypothyroidism condition and how nutritional deficiencies affect this condition. Role of each nutrient is important for body's health. Hypothyroidism is a hormonal condition. But nutrients and its presence and absence affects the thyroid in many ways. So my study focus on nutritional deficiencies and its consequences on hypothyroidism condition. Study was carried out by reviewing existing literature using databases like PubMed, Semantic Reader, Semantic Scholar. The analysis was carried out to know the relationship between the thyroid and nutritional deficiencies. From the analysis it was found that Hypothyroid patients suffer from nutritional deficiencies such as iodine, selenium, iron, zinc, Vitamin D and Vitamin A. Each nutrient have its role in maintaining the thyroid metabolism. Deficiencies leads to other complications such as goiter, osteoporosis, Anemia, Heart problems and Immunity problems. Women reproductive health is also affected leading to infertility, Miscarriage . So proper Nutrition is important for the proper functioning of the thyroid. So this study is relevant to know the relation between nutrients and their role in thyroid. Study also shows the importance of conducting various nutrition programmes to spread awareness among the public. |
