Disparities and Development: A Statistical Exploration of Scheduled Tribes’ Socio-economic Conditions in Telangana

Author(s) Dr. P. Prameela Margaret, Ms. N. Sujatha
Country India
Abstract This article presents a detailed statistical analysis of the socio-economic conditions of Scheduled Tribes (STs) in three tribal-dominated districts of Telangana Mahabubnagar, Warangal, and Adilabad. Drawing on structured field data and empirical survey methods, the article evaluates indicators such as education, occupation, land ownership, income, and access to welfare schemes. Despite a variety of targeted welfare interventions, the data reveals wide disparities in development outcomes across tribal communities. Low levels of education, landlessness, unemployment, and limited awareness of government schemes continue to hinder the social and economic progress of STs. The paper concludes with recommendations aimed at inclusive, participatory, and decentralized policy implementation.
