Abstract In India, urban waste management is a growing challenge, especially in small cities like Shillong, due to urbanization, population growth, and changing consumption patterns. This study analyzes waste management issues and highlights the need for better public awareness, community participation, and policy improvements to ensure sustainable waste management practices.
